Legislative Activity

The SAFE for America Act of 2025 eliminates the Diversity Visa Program, which makes visas available to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. This is achieved through repealing subsection (c) of Section 203 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. The Act also makes corresponding technical amendments to other sections of the Immigration and Nationality Act to reflect this change. These changes would take effect beginning October 1, 2025.

The Credit Union Board Modernization Act updates federal requirements for board of directors meetings, moving away from a mandatory monthly schedule. Under this bill, meeting frequency will be determined by a credit union’s age and its financial performance ratings, allowing high-performing institutions greater operational flexibility while maintaining oversight for newer or lower-rated credit unions.

The Alpha-gal Allergen Inclusion Act amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to include alpha-gal, a sugar found in non-catarrhine primate mammals and red algae, as a major food allergen. This will require food labels to clearly identify the presence of alpha-gal. The amendment will take effect 18 months after the enactment of this Act, with an exception for mammal-derived ingredients where alpha-gal is below a detectable limit as determined by the Secretary.

The Dismantle DEI Act of 2025 aims to immediately rescind diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mandates across the federal government, including shutting down related offices and banning specific ideological training for federal personnel and contractors. The bill prohibits the use of federal funds for DEI activities by grant recipients and mandates that federal advisory committees cease all such practices or face termination. Furthermore, it establishes strong enforcement mechanisms, allowing individuals to sue violators and seek financial penalties for non-compliance.

The Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025 aims to support healthcare providers by extending Medicare payment adjustments through the end of 2025. Specifically, the bill provides a 6.62 percent payment increase for services rendered between April 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, to help practitioners adjust to evolving Medicare payment policies.

The National Constitutional Carry Act seeks to protect the Second Amendment right of law-abiding citizens to carry firearms in public for self-defense. The bill prohibits state and local governments from imposing criminal or civil penalties on individuals who are legally eligible to possess firearms. By overriding restrictive local regulations, the legislation aims to ensure a uniform standard for the right to bear arms across the United States.

The Main Street Tax Certainty Act makes the 20% pass-through business income deduction permanent. By removing the current 2025 expiration date, this legislation ensures long-term tax relief for owners of qualified pass-through entities.

The "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2025" seeks to prohibit the use of federal funds for abortions and for health plans that cover abortions, while allowing individuals and entities to purchase separate abortion coverage with non-federal funds. It clarifies that premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) cannot be used for health plans that include abortion coverage. The Act also revises notice requirements for health plans, mandating clear disclosure of abortion coverage and any associated premium surcharges to enrollees. Exceptions to the funding restrictions are included for cases of rape, incest, or when the mother's life is in danger.

The Protecting Life on College Campus Act of 2025 prohibits federal funding for any institution of higher education that hosts or is affiliated with campus-based clinics providing abortions or abortion-inducing drugs. To remain eligible for federal support, institutions must submit an annual certification confirming their compliance with these restrictions.

The 911 SAVES Act mandates that the Office of Management and Budget reclassify public safety telecommunicators as "Protective Service Occupations" within the federal Standard Occupational Classification system. This legislation recognizes the critical, high-stress, and lifesaving nature of 911 dispatchers, correcting their current misclassification to better reflect their essential role in emergency response.

The "No Medicaid for Illegal Immigrants Act of 2025" prohibits states from providing full Medicaid coverage to individuals who are not lawfully admitted for permanent residence. Under this legislation, state-funded medical assistance for these individuals would be restricted exclusively to federally qualified emergency care.

The "No Retaining Every Gun In a System That Restricts Your Rights Act" mandates the destruction of all firearm transaction records currently held by the ATF from discontinued businesses. Furthermore, it amends federal law to prohibit the future collection and transfer of these records to the government when a firearms business ceases operations. The bill also requires the ATF to submit a formal report to Congress confirming the number of records destroyed.

This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to expand the railroad track maintenance credit by increasing the per-mile tax credit to $6,100 and implementing annual inflation adjustments starting in 2026. It also extends the eligibility window for qualifying maintenance expenditures to include costs incurred through 2023. These updates aim to provide greater financial support for ongoing railroad infrastructure improvements.

The Hearing Protection Act aims to remove silencers from the purview of the National Firearms Act (NFA) by treating them similarly to standard firearms under federal tax law. This legislation preempts certain state and local taxes and registration requirements related to silencers involved in interstate commerce. Furthermore, the bill mandates the destruction of existing federal silencer registration records and updates federal marking requirements for manufacturers.

The "Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025" amends Title IX to prohibit schools receiving federal funds from allowing males to participate in female athletic programs. Sex is defined as based on reproductive biology and genetics at birth. The bill allows males to train with female teams if it doesn't deprive females of opportunities. It also requires a study on the benefits lost to women when males participate in female sports.

The Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act prohibits the EPA from granting waivers for state emission standards that restrict the sale or use of new internal combustion engine vehicles. Additionally, the bill requires the revocation of any existing waivers granted since January 1, 2022, that conflict with this new federal policy.

The Organ Donation Referral Improvement Act directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a comprehensive study on the effectiveness of electronic automated referral systems for organ donation. This study will evaluate how these systems can streamline the identification of potential donors, improve efficiency, and increase donation volumes. Ultimately, the report will provide recommendations and a roadmap for the nationwide adoption of these automated technologies.

The Border Safety and Security Act of 2025 authorizes the Secretary of Homeland Security to suspend the entry of inadmissible aliens at U.S. borders to maintain operational control. It mandates a suspension of entry whenever the government lacks the capacity to properly detain or monitor these individuals. Additionally, the bill empowers state attorneys general to sue the federal government to enforce these border security requirements.
