The Job Protection Act amends the Family and Medical Leave Act to expand eligibility for family and medical leave to employees employed for at least 90 days. This act also expands the FMLA to include employers with 1 or more employees.

This bill authorizes the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate to award a Congressional Gold Medal to the Freedom Riders, collectively, in recognition of their contributions to the Civil Rights movement. The medal will be displayed at the Smithsonian Institution and other appropriate locations, with bronze duplicates available for sale to the public. The DERAIL Act aims to improve railroad safety by updating the definition of "high-hazard flammable train" to include trains carrying flammable liquids or gases. It also mandates that railroad carriers report derailments involving toxic inhalation materials to relevant authorities within 24 hours.

The WISER Act of 2025 aims to support women veterans involuntarily discharged under Executive Order 10240 by establishing a program to upgrade their discharge status, allowing them to be treated as if they completed their assigned duty for the purpose of VA benefits. Additionally, the bill creates a one-time compensation benefit of $25,000 for eligible women veterans or their surviving spouses. Eligibility is presumed for veterans separated under Executive Order 10240, or those who experienced childbirth, custody, adoption, or incomplete pregnancy within 10 months of separation. The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense will administer these programs.

The Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act permanently withdraws approximately 225,504 acres of federal land and waters in Minnesota's Rainy River Watershed from mining and mineral leasing activities to protect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Voyageurs National Park. It allows for the removal of certain materials like sand and gravel if it does not harm the environment. The Act aims to preserve water quality, air quality, and the ecological integrity of the Rainy River Watershed.

This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to increase the railroad track maintenance credit from $3,500 to $6,100, adjusting for inflation after 2025. It applies to qualified expenditures starting January 1, 2024, for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2024.

The "Saving the Civil Service Act" limits the ability to reclassify civil service positions, maintaining competitive service standards. It requires OPM approval for certain position changes and sets restrictions on the number of employees that can be moved between service types during a presidential term.
