This bill aims to reduce the risk and appearance of corruption, restore public trust in elections, and limit foreign interference by placing reasonable limits on contributions to political action committees that make independent expenditures. The Act defines an "independent expenditure committee" as any political committee that makes independent expenditures totaling $5,000 or more in a calendar year, or contributes $5,000 or more to other independent expenditure committees within a calendar year. These amendments will take effect at the start of the calendar year following the enactment of this legislation.

The Food Secure Strikers Act of 2025 amends the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008. The bill removes striking workers' eligibility for SNAP benefits.

The Paycheck Fairness Act aims to strengthen and enhance enforcement of equal pay requirements by redefining "sex," modifying the "bona fide factor" defense for pay disparities, broadening the definition of "same establishment," strengthening non-retaliation protections, and enhancing penalties for employers who violate equal pay provisions. The Act sets specific guidelines for breeding frequency, age, and veterinary procedures, as well as humane placement for retired breeding dogs. It directs the Secretary to finalize regulations for these standards within 18 months.

The Keep the Watchdogs Running Act ensures Inspectors General can continue operations during government shutdowns. It allows them to use funds, up to the level of their last appropriation, even when Congress hasn't passed a budget. This maintains oversight and prevents disruption of critical watchdog functions.

The "Protect Our Watchdogs Act of 2025" establishes that a President may only remove an Inspector General for specific causes, such as neglect of duty, malfeasance, or abuse of authority. Any removal must be documented with the specific reasons for the removal. This ensures Inspectors General can effectively perform their duties without political interference.

The "Feed Hungry Veterans Act of 2025" amends the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, expanding SNAP eligibility for disabled veterans. It includes veterans with a 60% or higher disability rating, those with multiple disabilities totaling 70% or higher with one at 40%, those catastrophically disabled, and those under 65 receiving certain pensions. These changes will take effect on October 1, 2030.

This bill establishes a commission to study the potential creation of a National Museum of Irish American History in Washington, D.C. The commission will explore the museum's feasibility, including fundraising, location, governance, and potential inclusion within the Smithsonian Institution.
