The "HOPE for Homeownership Act" aims to discourage large financial entities from acquiring single-family homes by imposing an excise tax on entities that fail to sell excess single-family residences and disallowing mortgage interest and depreciation deductions for certain high-income taxpayers on these properties. This act targets hedge fund taxpayers with a tax on the acquisition of single-family residences and sets a tax for applicable taxpayers who own excess properties. It asserts that using military force against cartels or other entities in Mexico without Mexico's consent or Congressional approval could be considered an act of war and an infringement upon constitutional powers.
