The "Awning Safety Act of 2025" directs the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to establish a mandatory safety standard for fixed and freestanding retractable awnings. The CPSC has 18 months to develop and enforce this standard, which will be treated as a consumer product safety rule under existing law.

The "Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety and Oversight Improvements Act of 2025" regulates foreign manufacturers of cylinders used to transport hazardous materials in the U.S. It mandates yearly approval for these manufacturers, with a possible 5-year extension for those in good standing, and allows the Secretary of Transportation to deny or revoke approvals based on compliance and transparency concerns.
