The "Lung Cancer Screening and Prevention Act of 2025" expands Medicare coverage to include additional FDA-approved lung cancer screening tests. This allows the Secretary to cover these new tests as preventive services, using expert recommendations for coverage decisions. These changes will be effective immediately upon the enactment of the Act.

The "Equal Federal Funding for the District of Columbia Act" would classify Washington D.C. as a state for the purpose of federal funding eligibility. Unless otherwise specified, D.C. would be treated as any other state, political subdivision of a state, or unit of local government. These changes would go into effect beginning October 1, 2026.

The SASS Act, or "Single Application for School Safety Act," streamlines the grant application process for school safety initiatives. It directs the Attorney General to establish a single application for grants authorized by the COPS Director and the BJA Director. The COPS and BJA Directors will also provide technical assistance to grant applicants.

The Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act of 2025 expands public safety officer benefits to include deaths and disabilities caused by exposure-related cancers, presuming that certain cancers diagnosed within 15 years of service are line-of-duty injuries if the officer served for at least 5 years. It defines "exposure-related cancer" and allows for updates to the list based on medical evidence, while also permitting individuals to petition for additions. The Act also clarifies "line of duty action" and applies retroactively to claims dating back to January 1, 2020, with a three-year window for filing claims based on these amendments.

The "No Patient Left Alone Act of 2025" ensures that patients in healthcare facilities have the right to receive visitors, including a spouse, family member, or friend. It requires facilities to establish clear visitation policies, inform patients of their rights, and prohibits discrimination in visitation privileges. Patients maintain the right to designate or deny visitors, ensuring their preferences are respected. This act amends the Social Security Act to protect these visitation rights.

The "Ending DOGE Conflicts Act" mandates that special government employees with financial ties to companies contracting with the federal government must adhere to strict financial disclosure requirements. It requires the Director of the Office of Government Ethics to certify these employees' financial reports and prohibits them from performing official duties until compliance is confirmed.

The "Discriminatory Gaming Tax Repeal Act of 2025" eliminates excise taxes on wagering, as specified in Chapter 35 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. This repeal is effective for taxable years starting after December 31, 2024.

The "Ensuring the Safety of Our Mail Act of 2025" aims to deter mail theft by increasing the maximum penalty for offenders. This bill amends existing law to raise the potential prison sentence for mail theft from 5 to 10 years.

The Justice for All Act of 2025 aims to strengthen and expand civil rights protections by clarifying prohibited discrimination, reinstating the right to sue for discriminatory impact, and addressing loopholes in existing laws. This bill amends several key acts to include protections based on religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), and source of income, while also prohibiting discrimination by law enforcement and in public accommodations. It also makes employers fully responsible for employee discrimination, bans mandatory arbitration in employment, consumer, and civil rights disputes, and clarifies liability for government officials who violate constitutional rights. Finally, the act ensures that individuals who have experienced discrimination can recover equitable and legal relief, attorney's fees, and costs.

The Meat and Poultry Special Investigator Act establishes an office within the Department of Agriculture, headed by a Special Investigator, to investigate and prosecute violations of the Packers and Stockyards Act. This office will serve as a liaison between various government entities on competition and trade practices in the food and agricultural sector. It will also consult with the Department of Homeland Security on national security and infrastructure security. The office is granted the authority to bring civil or administrative action.

The Federal Lands and Waters Leasing Transparency Act aims to increase transparency in oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters. It requires the Secretary of Interior to provide detailed reports to bidders on offshore oil and gas leases when their bids are rejected and protects existing leases from legal challenges. Additionally, the Act sets a 60-day deadline for the Secretary of Interior to issue onshore oil and gas leases, regardless of court orders, unless issuing the lease would violate federal law. Finally, the Act ensures that court findings of noncompliance in offshore lease sales do not invalidate existing leases or delay related development plans and permit applications.

The "Stopping Political Discrimination in Disaster Assistance Act" amends the Stafford Act to prohibit discrimination based on economic status or political affiliation in the provision of disaster assistance. This ensures equitable access to aid for all individuals affected by disasters, regardless of their financial situation or political beliefs.

The Veterans Equal Access Act allows Veterans Affairs health providers to discuss medical marijuana with veterans and provide recommendations or opinions regarding participation in state marijuana programs. This includes completing necessary forms for veterans in states, districts, territories, and recognized Indian Tribes with existing medical marijuana programs. This ensures veterans have access to informed medical advice from their VA healthcare providers regarding medical marijuana options.

The ACCESS Act modifies health savings account (HSA) rules to allow contributions in place of cost-sharing reductions for certain health plans. For eligible individuals enrolled in a high-deductible health plan through an exchange, the health insurance issuer will contribute to the individual's HSA, with the government reimbursing the issuer for these payments. To ensure funds are used for healthcare, distributions from the HSA during months when contributions are received must be made via a qualified medical debit card. The Act also mandates public education on HSA contributions and appropriates funds for cost-sharing reduction payments and HSA contributions, effective for months beginning after December 31, 2025.

The "Student Veteran Benefit Restoration Act of 2025" aims to restore educational benefits to veterans and eligible individuals whose education was interrupted due to institutional misconduct, such as fraud or closure. It requires educational institutions to repay educational assistance received if a student's benefits are restored due to the institution's actions. The bill also allows the Department of Veterans Affairs to recover fraudulently obtained funds and establishes an appeal process for institutions.

The Officer John Barnes Act requires the Bureau to inform claimants of their benefit eligibility determination within 270 days of receiving a claim.

The Honoring Our Fallen TSA Officers Act amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to include Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees in the Public Safety Officers' Benefits program. This ensures that TSA officers who die or are injured in the line of duty while protecting the nation's transportation systems are eligible for death benefits. This law applies retroactively to injuries occurring on or after October 31, 2013.

The DRILL Now Act prevents river basin commissions from regulating hydraulic fracturing within the Susquehanna, Delaware, and Potomac River basins unless authorized by the respective State. This ensures that state legislatures have the authority to decide on hydraulic fracturing regulations within their jurisdiction.

The Police CAMERA Act of 2025 authorizes a matching grant program managed by the Bureau of Justice Assistance to help State, local, and Tribal governments purchase or lease body-worn cameras for law enforcement. Grant recipients must follow certain requirements, including developing policies with community input, limiting the use of facial recognition technology, releasing data in accordance with state open record laws, and conducting regular security evaluations of data storage. The bill allocates \$30,000,000 of the Bureau of Justice Assistance funds for this program from 2026-2028 and requires a study on the efficacy and impact of body-worn cameras. The goal of the bill is to deter excessive force, improve accountability and transparency, assist in responding to complaints, and improve evidence collection.

The Blind Americans Return to Work Act of 2025 initiates a 20-year demonstration project aimed at helping blind Americans receiving Social Security disability benefits return to work. For the first 10 years, eligibility for benefits will be determined without considering substantial gainful activity, and benefits will be reduced based on earnings above a set amount, incentivizing employment without immediate loss of support. The project waives certain benefit requirements to facilitate successful employment, with participants having the option to opt out after the initial 10-year period. This act aims to support blind individuals in their transition back to the workforce while maintaining a safety net.
