The "Abortion Care Awareness Act of 2025" directs the Department of Health and Human Services to create a national public health education campaign to improve access to abortion and related health services. This campaign will educate the public on how to access abortion services, the legality of abortion, accurate medical information, patient rights, and how to identify misleading information. The campaign aims to be culturally competent and accessible, providing resources for underserved communities while protecting personal information and avoiding the promotion of misinformation.

The HIRE CREDIT Act amends the Internal Revenue Code to include "displaced disaster victims" in the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program. A "displaced disaster victim" is defined as someone whose residence or employment location within a qualified disaster zone became inoperable due to a major disaster, and who is currently unemployed. This provision applies to individuals hired within one year after the disaster's incident period, starting on or after January 1, 2024, aiming to incentivize employment in communities recovering from emergencies. The act also includes transition rules for disasters where the incident period ended before the enactment of the Act.

The SHOPP Act of 2025 expands the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program to increase access to healthy foods. It allows program incentives to be used for fresh frozen fruits and vegetables, increasing year-round availability. The act also includes legumes as eligible purchases, alongside fruits and vegetables, to promote diverse and nutritious food choices.

The "Test Strip Access Act of 2025" aims to combat the opioid crisis by expanding resources for states and tribal communities. This bill amends existing legislation to allow grant funding to be used for the purchase of fentanyl and xylazine test strips. By increasing access to these test strips, the Act seeks to help prevent accidental overdoses and reduce harm associated with drug use.

The "STOP Fentanyl and Xylazine Act" clarifies that devices used to detect the presence of fentanyl or xylazine are exempt from regulation under the Controlled Substances Act. This exemption applies to the possession, sale, purchase, import, export, and transportation of such testing equipment. The aim of the act is to increase the availability and use of tools that can help prevent overdoses related to these dangerous substances.

The "ALERT Communities Act" aims to combat the opioid crisis by increasing access to and training on fentanyl and xylazine test strips for first responders and community members. It directs the Department of Health and Human Services to establish research and marketing guidelines for test strip technology and to study the impact of drug checking supplies on overdose rates and treatment participation. The Act defines "test strip" as a tool to detect dangerous substances in drugs, helping to prevent overdoses and reduce the risk of harm.

This bill renames the Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in Dallas, Texas, to the "Eddie Bernice Johnson VA Medical Center" in honor of Congresswoman Johnson's service to veterans as a nurse and legislator. All references to the medical center will reflect this new designation.
