The Runway SAFE-T Act aims to tighten up safety on the tarmac by modernizing how airport employees are trained to drive around active runways and taxiways. Starting within six months, the FAA will assemble a specialized task force—including everyone from air traffic controllers and firefighters to airline representatives—to overhaul driver safety standards at all commercial airports.
